Future of ATM Teacher Training

ATM® Teacher Training Programs Policy:
Invitation to Review Draft

Over the past year, NATAB has gathered insights from the ATM teacher pilot training programs, surveys, and reports on the future of ATM teacher training. Building on this work, NATAB has developed a draft policy for accrediting ATM teacher training programs. Please join us for upcoming Zoom Cafés where we’ll share what’s being proposed. This will be followed by a survey to hear your feedback about the draft and other options that are being considered.

Zoom Café Dates:
Thursday, September 25 and Wednesday, October 8, 2025
4:30 pm PT/7:30 pm ET

Survey: Your opinion matters! Watch your inbox - after the Zoom Cafés, FGNA members, certified teachers  and trainees will receive an email with a link to the survey, so you can let us know what you think. Click here for more information.

Here are some background documents for you:

Recommendations to FGNA Board of Directors. After reviewing reports and surveys (see below), the FGNA Board of Directors authorized NATAB to develop policy for accrediting “ ATM Only” teacher training programs, as well as two-stage programs to train both Feldenkrais ® ATM teachers and Feldenkrais practitioners. See: Summary of Recommendations to FGNA Board of Directors: Future of ATM teacher training programs .

Report on Survey: Future of ATM Teacher Training Programs In 2024, NATAB organized two Zoom Cafés to present key findings from the ATM teacher training program pilot projects and possible next steps. NATAB then conducted a survey to hear the thoughts, concerns and level of support from practitioners, ATM teachers and trainees, about the idea of developing policy to accredit ATM Teacher training programs. Report on Pilot Project training programs: What we learned . Two ATM teacher training programs were created following the Pilot policy (see below) and have been completed. NATAB closely monitored the programs and found both to be highly successful. Click to read the report
